Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe
This photograph is taken from the Gardens at Shute House, one of Jellicoe's final projects before his death, and shows a pond which is a diversion from the River Nadder. The water flows between a series of pools, canals and waterfalls which travel through the gardens, creating a tranquil atmosphere. I personally enjoy how the water reflects the beautiful foliage, creating an enclosed feel to this particular area of the garden, as well as the curved edge to the water feature, leading the visitor along it into the more open space in the distance.
